Set User Object

- Asteroid PRO allows the user to specify individual stars in an ancillary databases, called User Object Databases (UOB)
that extend the main stellar database, based on the PPM and ACRS catalogs. This is useful for occulted stars that are
not in the main database. Examples are stars from the Hubble Guide Star Catalog and stars from later extension to the PPM
catalog not included in the current version of Asteroid PRO. This function, Set User Object, allows the user to define one
of the UOB stars as an occulted star target and then pass the asteroid selected in Lookup Individual Asteroid Screen by it
at the expected time of the occultation. The screen below is invoked to allow the user to specify which UOB file to examine
and which star within that file to select as the target. Stars stored in a UOB must be specified to very high positional
accuracy (
