Location Screen

- Asteroid PRO includes a user extensible location database which is used to associate shadow earth coordinate
information with more convenient earth location names, as well as define local time from UT. It consists of location
names, latitude and longitude, and a radius in km associated with that location. The radius specifies a circular area
of any size, from a few km for a city to thousands of km for an entire ocean. The regions can be displayed on a world
map to verify coverage, overlap, etc.
- For any specific shadow coordinate pair, the nearest location is picked for display and output based on the great circle
arc distance from that location to the shadow coordinate. Overlapping areas are allowed, so that a city is output when
closest to the shadow, then a country, then continent, or whatever suits the user best. Sites may be added, modified,
or deleted from the database using the Location Screen.
