Ephemeris Mode

• The following graphic is an example of Ephemeris Mode. It depicts the asteroid 74 Galatea at a time around opposition over a 60 day segment of its orbit, centered on June 9, 1995. This plot was produced by using the SkyPlot function described above, accessed after selecting Ephemeris Mode. No occultation target has been selected, therefore the asteroid can be positioned to any date/time. Further, as the selected date moves away from the epoch date of the orbit, SkyPlot includes the ability to continually refine the orbit to the epoch of the center of the displayed orbit segment.
